Overview

Fibromyalgia is a chronic illness characterized by widespread pain such as sore spots on muscles when touched, fatigue, poor quality sleep, hormonal imbalances, and a weakened immune system that leads to frequent infections.

Common Causes

Chronic infections (viral, bacterial, yeast/fungus/mold, parasites, etc), hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, food allergies or intolerances, heavy metal and chemical toxicity, and unresolved psycho-emotional conflicts are often the culprits.

Just one or a combination of these problems can deplete body systems of their ability to function and produce energy. In the case of Fibromyalgia, pain also results.

Assessment

Prior to treatment, a comprehensive assessment of the issues stated above can be done with conventional and alternative laboratories and muscle testing, specifically Autonomic Response Testing (www.neuraltherapy.com).

Treatment/Solutions

Conventional treatments utilize drugs to ease pain, to help with sleep and to relax muscles, but this merely treats the symptoms. A stronger approach is to figure out what the root causes of the symptoms are. These root causes are many and varied and each patient has his or her own combination of them.

The key to effectively treating Fibromyalgia is persistent and structured detoxification, immune enhancement, and replacement of deficient nutrients and body building blocks.

Virtually every fibromyalgia patient needs probiotics such as Lactobacillus and acidophilus in their intestines to better absorb nutrients. Most patients need digestive enzymes to help digest their food. These supplements cannot be overestimated. You should have more good bacteria (probiotics) in your body than cells. These good bacteria have more than two dozen functions. Without them, you wouldn't absorb the nutrients from your food to help make or extract certain vitamins. Your bad bacteria would overgrow your intestines taxing your immune system and setting up a vicious cycle of even more infections.

Removing toxins is essential. The first step is to minimize the toxic exposures from your environment by using natural products for cleaning your living area and workspace. Learn the sources of toxins (home, yard, work, car, body products, pets, cosmetics and your foods) and eliminate exposure while detoxifying your body (see detoxification).

IMPORTANT NOTE: if the detoxification process is started before the body is prepared to detoxify, it can be an overwhelming stress to the body. This is why it is important to proceed with the help of an experienced physician.

After detoxification, the next critical step is to help the body overcome infections (viruses, bacteria, fungae and mycoplasm). Various products (e.g. immune boosters and powerful peptides) can assist the body's ability to fight off any infection.

PMS & Fibromyalgia

Because the common causes of Fibromyalgia create imbalances in the hormonal system (especially the adrenals and thyroid), many women with fibromyalgia experience severe PMS or menopausal symptoms. Proper supplementation with vitamins and minerals, herbs and sometimes glandulars can help dramatically.

In Closing

When the body can better absorb nutrients, consume cleaner nutrients and/or intravenous nutrients, the body can then fight and eliminate the underlying causes, function better, and recover from the symptoms of Fibromyalgia.
