Low Intensity Laser Therapy Pain Relief
Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) is a revolutionary new treatment that has taken the medical world by storm. The discovery of therapeutic lasers go back well over half a century as scientists attempted to ascertain how light itself could be used in a specific manner for healing purposes. The use of high intensity lasers is well known in the fields of surgery for precise procedures throughout the body. However low intensity lasers do not have the ability to heat skin tissues enough to burn or cut through them. They do have the ability to stimulate the skin cells as well as underlying soft tissue cells in a natural way. The FDA has approved low intensity laser for the use in the therapeutic healing of chronic pain conditions involving muscles, ligaments, bones, joints, etc.

History of BioFlex Laser Therapy
Research on the benefits of laser therapy began in the 1960's, but it was not until the late 80's that technology improved to the point that the full potential of laser therapy was achievable.
In 1990, Fred Kahn M.D., founder of Meditech International, Inc. recognized the potential of Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) and began collaborating with scientists and other informed leaders in the field in an effort to research the technology and advance its progress. With the combined expertise and resources of Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Kahn developed the BioFlex Laser Therapy System that is used in all Laser Pain Centers of America. This sophisticated professional laser therapy system is designed to be a curative solution to many painful conditions.
Research for improved treatment protocols for the BioFlex Laser Therapy System and Laser Pain Centers is on-going in many locations to improve pathology-specific outcomes and to help maintain the edge as the best in the industry. Meditech International, in Toronto, Ontario continues to be in the forefront of this research, gathering clinical data in two research centers, performing up to 1000 treatments each week.
When you receive treatment from a member of Laser Pain Centers International, you can be assured you are receiving treatment from a technologically superior laser therapy system using well researched treatment protocols. Our technicians are trained and certified laser therapists to further enhance your care.
If you are suffering with acute or chronic pain from trauma, sports injury, back pain, neck pain, arthritis or other painful conditions, BioFlex Laser Therapy may be your answer for an early and complete recovery.

Why is BioFlex Laser Therapy effective?
Laser light has the ability to penetrate the skin and affect our bodies at the cellular level. When laser light is administered in correct dosages, the light is absorbed by key components of the cell. A number of biochemical changes occur, causing dysfunctional tissue to work correctly, and the body begins to repair itself. In essence, light energy is converted to biochemical energy, thus accelerating the healing process.
It is true that diverse cells within the body absorb or react to various light wave-lengths differently. Therefore, effective BioFlex protocols call for the use of three separate wavelengths, each known to have a distinct beneficial effect on various cells surrounding the target tissue. These wavelengths are administered by three light sources: two arrays of superluminous diodes and a true laser.
The first treatment stage uses an array of red light at 660nm and covers a wide section of tissue around the painful pathology. The second stage array utilizes infrared light at 840nm and reaches target tissue below the penetration of red light. The third stage of each treatment is a laser probe at 830nm with the power to reach deeper into the tissue for final beneficial effects.
Using BioFlex protocols, the light sources are programmed with customizable parameters of frequency, duty cycle, power density, duration and waveform. Together, these advanced protocols and the technically sophisticated BioFlex Laser System are without doubt, the reason our patients experience such high percentages of improvement.
